Catch up with Bollywood singer Aastha Gill

After the hit track Buzz, singer Aastha Gill has dropped her latest single Saara India. This was announced by Badshah on his social media, sharing on his Instagram: "THIS IS NOT A BTS OR STILL FROM BUZZ! The team that gave you buzz is back! This time without me though. Aastha Gill and Priyank Sharma are back to take you on a trip around India. The song is called "SAARA INDIA" and its on loop right now in my phone I swear. Presenting probably the best Jodi in town, music by @mixsingh and video directed by @arvindrkhaira get ready for "SAARA INDIA". Out on 3rd May. Screen pe aag lagne wali hai"

The music video to Saara India has also been released and stars reality show star Priyank Sharma, who's collaborated once again with Aastha Gill.

Because Desi had a quick chat with Aastha to discuss her new single with Priyank Sharma.

How was it like working without Badshah for this single?

I missed him. Obviously, I knew the song was good. You feel like he was not there, but he was there with me at the dubbing and when the editing was happening. So he's always there. Whatever I do I first bounce it off to him, then I take his approval and if he likes it then I go for it.

What do you have to say about working with Priyank?

Working with Priyank is like working with a friend because he's a friend now. When I work with someone I don't work professionally, I make friends and family and that's what I did with Priyank. He's my family now. He's super fun to work with, super chill, very enthusiastic and very high on energy. I don't know where he gets all that energy from. We literally starved ourselves during the shoots and he was still so energetic, it's crazy. He's a crazy person.

Biggest musical inspiration?

My biggest musical inspiration is my dad because I've grown up seeing him as he is a music director and his knowledge in music is something else. I've not seen anyone so knowledgeable in music.

After Saara India, what's next from Aastha?

I have dubbed a couple of songs and a couple of collaborations which you will know about very soon. I've also started working on my next single which will be out in a couple of months.

What's currently on your playlist?

I am currently listening to Saara India and Billie Eilish.

Ultimate career goal?

I want to be the best singer/performer and that's it, period. I want to and would love to work with A.R Rahman once in my lifetime.
