BBC WM's Presenters Sunny & Shay To Celebrate Vaisakhi In Wolverhampton

BBC WM's presenters Sunny & Shay are celebrating Vaisakhi in style in Wolverhampton on Thursday 13th April 2017 from 1.30pm at Barfia, 460 Dudley Road, Wolverhampton WV2 3AF.
Come and join the team at Barfia Wolverhampton for a celebration of Sikh tradition, heritage and culture with an afternoon of music, dance, fashion, turban tying key business & community leaders and celebrity guests who will be celebrating on air with Sunny & Shay on BBC WM.

Simon Singh, Director of Barfia Wolverhampton commented 'We are proud that we have decided to set up the Barfia brand in Wolverhampton and as a business to be hosting Vaisakhi celebrations. We are delighted that Sunny & Shay and the BBC WM team have chosen Wolverhampton to celebrate the festivities! Each year BBC WMs presenters Sunny & Shay have broadcast live from the community to celebrate Vaisakhi across the West Midlands!

Vaisakhi is one of the most important events in the Sikh calendar, celebrated on 13 April
(occasionally 14 April) each year by more than 20 million Sikhs worldwide. It was on this day in 1699 that the Khalsa order was established by Guru Gobind Singh. The annual celebration's, led by a Sikh community group, takes place around the UK later in the month.
